I bring a lot of creative energy and enthusiasm
into every class visit. As an educator myself, a
professor in the Illustration department at the
Minneapolis College of Art & Design, I am truly
passionate about books and teaching. I teach
children’s book illustration courses to children, college level and for adults through Continuing Education programs. My teaching background allows me to be very comfortable giving presentations and interacting with students, teachers and groups of all ages.
I have been a keynote and guest speaker at many conferences; including the Minnesota Society of Children's Book Writer and Illustrators (SCBWI) conference, the Hubb Children's Literature Festival, the South Dakota SCBWI conference, Minnesota Young Writer's Conferences, Young Artist Conferences, the North Dakota Reading Association Conference, Creativity Festival, Tri-Metro Art Festival and a variety of illustration or writing day workshops, book and library events.
Library or Book Events
I enjoy working with groups of all ages as well as adults. I truly enjoy meeting and interacting with others at a variety of book inspired events.
I'll cater my program to the age level requested from K-Elementary up to adults.
